Single-Speeds...

For the last 4 months or so i have been riding my hard tail with a single speed cassette and it has just been a pain in the rear. I finally discovered a way to make a 8spd chain and 8spd gears. I basically have a 15 tooth rear sprocket and i took 2 25 tooth sprockets and put them on both sides of the 15 to make a guide for the chain so it doesn't come off. Works great and would recommend if your broke and want to rock a single speed!

Shaping up to be a great event for this weekend. I rode with Superco's Tammy Donahugh last weekend and she confirmed that this event has a great lineup of heavy hitters from the world of women's freeriding. If you haven't been out to The Ranch in Grand Junction, you should make a point to get out there. It's a super cool spot next to the Colorado National Monument Park and has a legit slopestyle course and a dual slalom course that snakes through the trees. Hit up these guys if you wanna ride it.

The first feature is a crazy rollercoaster step-up to drop. See that super tall kicker? That's the ramp for the step-up (around 7' tall)... That rollercoaster is gonna be way up in the air.

The ladder work is almost done to the second drop. They are also constructing an alternate line so that if you don't go on top of the wall, you can hit a step up into a cereal bowl/satellite dish then jump out onto the dirt landing... Kinda like in NWD 8 in Andreu Lacondeguy's segment.

Curved Wallride Almost Done

The curved wallride is coming along quite nicely. There are a couple of options once you hit it. You can either just stay on the wall the whole time, or you can pop up onto the rollercoaster top part and then ride a long elevated ladder bridge to the next feature. If you stay on the wall, you will hit a dirt jump up onto the next elevated feature. So while the course is technically a one-line course, there are options as to how you hit certain features.

There will be a new feature that replaces last years quarterpipe... a 270 degree wallride. After you come out of the wallride at speed, you'll then hit a wooden step up/step down feature.
